Using Substitutes for your Amazon Flex delivery block

As an Amazon Flex delivery partner, there may be times when you are unable to complete a scheduled delivery block. The substitution feature in the Amazon Flex app gives you the option to substitute a block to someone you trust. Your Substitute can be either an existing Amazon Flex delivery partner or a registered Substitute who meets the requirements, even if they are not an Amazon Flex delivery partner.
How substitution works
Using the Amazon Flex app, you can initiate a substitution up to 65 minutes before your delivery block starts. Simply open your upcoming block in the Calendar section of the Amazon Flex app, tap "Substitute," and enter your Substitute's email address. If they are not yet registered as a Substitute, they will receive an invitation. It may take up to 10 business days for a Substitute to complete the Amazon Flex registration process, so we recommend identifying substitutes early so they can register and be available when needed.

Getting paid when using a Substitute
If you substitute a block, Amazon Flex will still pay you for the completed block. It is your responsibility to pay your Substitute for their services at any rate you agree with them. You are also still responsible for the reliability and delivery quality of the block, whether the block is delivered by either you or your Substitute. The substitution feature gives you added flexibility while ensuring a reliable delivery service for Amazon customers.
